Zrak ON M89
7.62x39 - 2.3x - Yugoslavia/Serbia - M70

Little information regarding the history of the Zrak ON M89 can be found online. Presumably it was adopted or at least development was completed in 1989. All known examples are calibrated for 7.62x39 and have an integrated mount to fit on the M70 series of rifles. Examples can be seen with english (export) markings, and examples have been seen with serial numbers with the 2019 year prefix. I have not seen any photos of the scopes being used by any military or conflict to date. Internet rumors include that the scope was intended to by mass issued in Yugoslavia in the early 90s but that the program was sidelined by the yugoslavian breakup, that the scopes were used on an ad hoc basis on SKS rifles, that 5.56x45 export variants were built.

Data sheet from the Zrak english webpage. Note that while the description lists 5.56x45 as an option, none have been seen.

Serial Numbers

Known serial numbers below. Note that the earlist known scopes date from 1992 and the latest from 2019. None of the serial numbers are outside the 1200 range, with most within the 100 range suggesting low production numbers.
